Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI): Awards and Applications
Some people decide to forgo disability income insurance, assuming that they can qualify for SSDI should the need arise. However, not all of those who need benefits will qualify for SSDI. Of those who apply, how many actually receive benefits?
This tool will provide you with that information. It charts Social Security Disability Insurance benefit awards as a percentage of the applications made for each year during a selected time period.
Choose a time period of at least one year between the years 1965 and 2009 and select the chart you would like to create.
