Peter Paul Ostapow, a Certified Financial Planner ™ , has been a member of our community since he

moved to East Setauket with his wife Irene, three daughters, Jennifer, Susan and Caryn and his

beloved, West Highland White Terrier, Tamie in 1987 from Wantagh. Having been involved in his

community, especially in the Levittown Kiwanis Club (where he served as President), he quickly

formed the Three Village Kiwanis Club in 1988 and is currently serving as its President.

When Amanda their fourth daughter arrived Peter really became involved in the community.

He served on the Board of the Three Village Little League, Three Village Chamber of Commerce,

Three Village Historical Society and the now defunct Island Estates Community Association.

Peter was  instrumental in developing the East Setauket  Pond Park and the installation of the footbridge.

He was also instrumental in establishing the Key Club at Ward Melville High  School which now stands at

over 135 members. He seems to always be the go to guy when it comes to arranging community

events especially fund raising activities. Through his initiative, events such as the Annual Kiwanis Duck

Race and the Walk Through History came into being. He also helped create and foster the Annual

Holiday Parade in East Setauket in conjunction with the East Setauket Fire Department,

Three Village Chamber, Three Village School District and the Three Village Kiwanis Club.

In 1995, Newsday recognized his hard work and dedication to his community by selecting him as

Volunteer of the Year. The following year the Village Times Newspaper nominated him as Man of the

Year in Business for his efforts to the good of our community. Even the late Sue Bridson, recognized

his community involvement in her featured article entitled “What makes him tick?”

Three Village Herald February 26, 1997 When not involved in his community and with his family he

is constantly in quest of increasing his knowledge base to better serve his clientele. As a graduate of

St.  John's University School of Business he learned that education is lifetime activity.

Entering the financial services industry  27 year ago he quickly attained his Life Underwriter Training

Council Fellowship and became an LUTC moderator. When the Certified Financial Planning designation

came into being he quickly entered Adelphi University's  CFP program and received his certification

in 1985. In 1998, he received his Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designation from the American

College and in 2003 earned his Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) designation, also from the

American College. Mr. Ostapow is licensed to sell insurance and investments and has successfully

completed the NASD General Securities Representative - (Series 7), Direct Participation Programs

Limited Representative - (Series 22)  and  Investment Company Products/Variable Contracts Limited

Representative -(Series 6). He is a member in good standing with the CFP Board of Standards and

Practices, Inc., The Financial Planning Association  (FPA), The Society of Financial Services

Professionals (FSP), The National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA) and
